Developed from the work of early visionaries such as Merce Cunningham, Martha Graham and Marie Rambert, Contemporary has become a term applied to a diverse range of dance styles and technique systems. We consider Contemporary to be a perfect training complement for Ballet. Combine the awareness of line and posture learned in a ballet class with the easy, natural movement driven by momentum and use of gravity taught by release technique, and you have a dancer who can move effortlessly and beautifully.
