Ballet is at the heart of everything we do here at Verve Dance Studio, and most of our Ballet Classes follow the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. Although not essential, we recommend every novice dancer starts out with Ballet classes before trying some of the other dance styles that developed from it. Ballet forms the essential foundation upon which all European Dance forms were built, and strong ballet technique makes for better dancers.

A typical Ballet class starts at the Barre where a dancer learns the correct posture, alignment and muscle activation sequences for the movements they’ll be required to perform in the centre. In the centre, dancers will learn to pirouette with perfect balance, jump and leap effortlessly and strike beautiful well-balanced poses. There is good reason that Ballet is the most photographed dance form.

Although our Ballet classes for our preprofessional dancers have a focus on methodical correct application of technique and self discipline, our classes for our younger ones and novice teenagers are neither slow paced nor boring. Expect to be leaving with the same healthy glow you’d get from a dance lesson in any other discipline.
