Welcome to Verve Dance Studio. Our teachers have a combined 30+ years of teaching dance and, as the spiritual successor to Prima and Roberta McCormick’s School of Ballet, our school has a history of delivering excellent dance classes in the Ballymena area that goes back some 35 years.

We firmly believe that all children can benefit from dance, and we take great pride in our ethos of inclusion and involvement for every child regardless of ability. Children derive great enjoyment from accomplishment and our primary focus is on encouragement and growing the confidence and self esteem of our young students. We push every child to achieve their full potential, and we celebrate with them in their achievements. We have a full timetable of Ballet, Jazz, Modern and Contemporary Dance Classes to suit children of all ages and skill levels. Our introductory classes are a perfect place to start for young dancers with little or no experience, our toddler classes provide our youngest dancers with the confidence to bloom and allow space for their imagination to grow, and we have a long history of providing our more advanced dancers with a solid foundation from which they can go on to experience full time professional dance training. Previous students have successfully auditioned for Northern Ballet School, Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Institute of the Arts (Barcelona), Kings International Ballet Academy, Ballet Theatre UK, , Laban and The Hammond.

In line with our main ethos of encouraging dance for all, we provide adult dance classes perfectly suited for beginner adults getting with little or no ballet experience, and welcome adults with more experience and ability to join our older teens. We champion boys dance and run regular boys dance days as well as supporting our young male dancers any way we can. We frequently provide outreach workshops to schools and local community groups with the goal of encouraging more and more people to take up dance.

All our teachers are registered and qualified with the Royal Academy of Dance, so you know your child is receiving the best dance training possible. Our students are regularly given the option to take exams within the Royal Academy of Dance Graded Dance exams which are recognised by the OfQual and CCEA frameworks.  We also regularly involve our students in opportunities for performance, including our bi-annual shows at The Braid Theatre, Ballymena.
